North Country Welcome Center

Visitors to the Thousand Islands should stop by the North Country Welcome Center in Alexandria Bay to plan a trip to this scenic wonderland. Step inside and enjoy the boathouse-themed architecture, take a photo of the Boldt Castle mural, stroll the gallery, and pick up snacks at the Taste NY vending machines (or stop by the market in season). There’s also an Antique Boat Museum display from the waterfront destination in nearby Clayton. Outside, there’s a castle-themed playground for the kids, two electric car charging stations, an animal comfort area, and outdoor seating to take a break before heading out on the water for some Thousand Island-hopping.
